Evile are a Thrash Metal outfit from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire in the UK.

Founded by old school friends Matt Drake and Ben Carter then after playing with different guitarists and bass players for a year or so, Matt's brother Ol was asked to join as lead guitarist. After a short search for a bass player, Mike Alexander contacted the trio via an ad in a local guitar shop, and so ... Read more in Amazon's Evile Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Evile Strikes Again! 28 May 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This albums proves that not only Thrash metal is thriving and growing recently but also proves that Evile are the most consistent and productive bands out there. Not only can they write extremely powerful songs with blistering drums and thunderous bass but also deliver riffs that aren't recycled and are strangely unique among what some might consider a repetitive genre. The solo's are killer Ol Drake has completely change the meaning of the two words guitar solo. Normally i would pick out standout tracks with a album such as this but all of them are a must and it would be criminal not to include them in future live set list. But with the announcement of this new album I couldn't help but think how are they going to surpass or even match Five Serpents Teeth which all ten tracks are standout. But Skull has just done that and it takes a special band to do that.

With the arrival of a new Megadeth album which is extremely hit or miss in my opinion spend your hard earn cash wisely and get this instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars The real Expressway to yr Skull 5 April 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
The thrash metal revival continues apace with Skull. Using And Justice For All as a template is a good place to start. What a relief it is to have a vocalist who can actually sing. So many metal groups who may have awesome riffs are let down by weak vocalists (usually high pitched yelping or growling). but not here. Combined with some tight guitar work and fantastic drumming it's the perfect antidote for the aberration that was nu metal. The opener Underworld and closer New Truths Old Lies are highlights. It's just a pity the closing track fades out just as a crescendo of guitars kicks in. The only downside for me are cheesy clichéd metal lyrics on a couple of songs and a relatively short song list of nine tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars From strength to strength... 22 Mar 2014

Achieving what seemed impossible by equalling if not bettering Five Serpents'Teeth, Evile produce another classic thrash album. 'Underworld' and 'The Naked Sun' are instant classics. One of the few modern metal bands that are making good music at the moment, IMHO :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Album 28 July 2013
Format:MP3 Download|Verified Purchase
One of the best from Evile, gets the blood pumping. Great to hear a proper British singing voice again from a band that're as energetic and thrashy as, dare I say Slayer? :-D
