Product Description

Product Description

A stunning psychological thriller from the bestselling author of PUPPETS When Paul Skogland, who suffers from the mental disorder Tourette's syndrome, agrees to take on the repairs of the magnificent hunting lodge owned by his wealthy, eccentric aunt, little does he realise exactly what he's taken on. Inside the lodge lies a scene of almost superhuman destruction: a violence mirrored by a series of disappearances and grisly deaths haunting the region. As Paul delves into the wreckage, he can't help but wonder what dark passion - and what strength - could cause such chaos. Escalating events lead Paul deeper into his family's past, and as Paul faces the darker aspects of his own nature, he must brave the possibility that in saving those he loves, he might well destroy himself.

This is so scarry and disturbing! You do not know where it is going. The hints lead you all over and the tension builds. The knowledge of Touretts is outstanding and Hecht has either done a lot of reserch for the book or has some first hand knowledge. The desperation of a parent who is trying to find an answer to help their child is a strong undercurrent. As a first novel it is outstanding. I couldn't put it down on the 9 hour flight. Nicci French is tame after this.

BUY IT NOW!!! This is probably the most gripping book I've ever read. All of Hecht's are brilliant, but this really is the cherry on the cake. The detail, the twists, the characters - just amazing. I was a jittering mess when I finished it - he drags you into the book, makes you feel unable to escape and leaves you fighting for breath! You won't regret reading any of his stuff - I've finished them all now and feel at a total loss - no other thriller writer seems able to come near - need another Hecht fix soon! ***** BUY IT NOW!!!

FANTASTIC! 13 July 2003
Format:Paperback
Buy this book if your into psychology or just want a really great read. The writing is small making the story very long and the detail is unbelievable! The story and plot lines are stunning... I couldn't put it down! The writing style really makes you feel at one with Paul Skoglund (the main character) and the twist at the end is the best twist in a book I have ever read. Honestly people, don't even consider it, just click that 'buy now' button and read it immediately.... Excellent...
