Very compact, well illustrated, contains a lot of information on 'memory intensive' data,eg. signals, ship recognition by lights. Should provide a handy reference in respect of this.
Some other subjects covered provide basic learning material for non competant crew and may provide valuable revision for a experienced skipper.

A good guide, for use on land or when passage planning before setting sail. However it goes into too much detail and the text is too small to be an aide memoir for use in the yachts cockpit whilst at sea.

Excellent 4 Nov 2009
Excellent guide. You would not believe the amount of information that is presented concisely and clearly in so few pages. Great for reference, and excellent for budding day skippers and comp crew to browse through whilst lounging in the saloon.
