Synopsis
Channel 4's critically-acclaimed drama SKINS enters its fifth series following the angst-ridden lives of its teenage characters, as they grapple with adolescence. This series introduces the third generation of sixth formers; a once again, eclectic mix of characters. Dakota Blue Richards (THE GOLDEN COMPASS) stars as Franky, who automatically sets herself up as an outsider when she joins the school three weeks late. As Mini, Liv and Grace do their best to both help and hinder her settling in period, we also meet the new boys Alo, Rich, Nick, and Matty. Expect plenty more bitching, backstabbing, and general angst-ridden behaviour in this, the complete fifth series.

I must say I am completely eating my words! This is the second review I have left for this, and I am proud to say I am wrong! I did not like the beginning of this series, at all! However we are now nearing the end of this series and it really has vastly improved. The acting has got better and the writing is back on top form, still the worst series when it comes to Skins but a still a very good series!

Lets review the difference between Generation 1, 2 & 3 shall we. Generation 1&2 spend their whole life on drugs, which they seemingly have endless money to pay for. In series 4, Emily moved out of her house and lived with Naomi whose mother was where? Where'd they get the money to live together? In series 2, Tony went to a uni open day where there was a weird girl who knew everything about him and was not relevant to anything.
There were elements of series 1-4 which were so unbelievable that it was just escapism. Ask yourself how many 16-18 year olds live that way. Then compare it to this season. Apart from [SPOILERS] rich and Grace's 'wedding' which I have yet to see which will go ahead anyway, its been farrrrrr more realistic. so what if Franky looks like a boy, or Mini is a typical bitch, these stereotypes do exist. As for the people hating on Rich, I find him and Alo the most realistic people in it. I have met people like Rich who think their music is so elite and amazing and refuse to accept anything else. Watch more than one episode and keep an open mind. Its a lot more down to earth than previous series and in my opinion, this makes it a hell of a lot better.

Very good series once again only saw the first couple of episodes but from what i have seen i think this series is only gonna get better people are still saying this isn't as good as the first series but thats because the first series was brand new and we weren't use to it even the second series of skins wasn't as good as the first but still that series was wicked same as this one very good new set of characters same as with all skins lots of sex drugs violence and fantastic scenarios this deserves 5 stars absolutely epic

Bit of a let down
This series was a bit of a let down after the 1st 2 generations, but it does get better as it goes on so that by the last ep its actually better than youd first realized

Awsome
It's so great. I loved the past series, but this one is a whole new level. Thumps up for Skins and I can't wait for the series 6 to come out!

Skins Continues to entertain

Have to give it a chance.

ABSOLUTLEY AWFUL!!!!! What a load of utter trash. Skins used to be such a great drama. Now it is so cheesy it could be an episode of Tracy Beaker. Read more

Hard Act to Follow
Series 5, as much as i wanted to like it, simply has nothing on the first four series. Still worth watching, but quite disappointing when compared to what's been before it.

Characters are not as enticing as in previous seasons. There is less "under the skin" tension. It seems to me to be a little more forced and therefore less gripping. Read more
