Why do I get ingrown hairs and razor bumps?

Hair removal is really the major cause of ingrown hairs. The problem starts when hair is removed below the skin's surface. When these hairs begin to regrow they can curl up inside the hair follicle. The hair doubles over on itself making it difficult for it to exit the surface. As the hair continues to grow inside the follicle your skin tries to fight it. This results in a red, ugly bump on the surface of the skin.

Razor bumps are more common with curlier hair. When the hair begins to grow back it bends and twists under the skin finding it difficult to penetrate the skins surface properly.

    How does Ingrow Go work?

Ingrow Go has a powerful exfoliating action that sloughs away dead skin allowing the ingrown hair to simply pop out about above the surface of the skin where it can be easily removed.

Cleans out and purifies the affected pore

Next, the exfoliating action goes to work, sloughing away the dry dead skin and releasing the trapped hair.

= Skin that is clean, clear and silky smooth.

Relief in as little as 24 hours!

How to use Skin Doctors Ingrow Go Lotion

    Step 1

Prior to use, patch test on a small section of the intended area and wait 24 hours.

    Step 2

Moisten a cotton ball with Ingrow Go and apply directly to affected area.

    Step 3

Use morning and night until the skin clears. Use several days prior to waxing or electrolysis to help lift ingrown hairs and to ensure complete hair removal.

This gently burnt away the skin around the ingrown hair, but I just couldn't get to the hair itself even after weeks of trying so gave up. Maybe mine was just too deep-rooted for this to tackle. It did help in a way though as, although the hair must still be there, there is no longer any pain or infection, so that's something.

I really suffer from ingrowns, especially post waxing. I have used this skin doctors product for years and honestly think it's the best that's on the market. I've used pfb vanish, nair and a few other companies products but none of them are as effective on my skin as this. It lifts off dead skin on the surface and in the process softens the plug of skin stopping the ingrown hair coming through to the surface. After a few go's the ingrowns scrub out a lot easier. When used religiously and in conjunction with some serious exfoliating and moisturising I have actually got to a point where I couldn't find a single ingrown anywhere on me!
The downside is that this stuff doesn't smell nice so you might want to open the window whilst you're using it. The smell on your skin does fade, especially if you follow it with some moisturiser as I tend to. It's great to find it so cheap on here too as in Boots it's about £11.

Ingrow Go is an extremely useful product if like me you also suffer from ingrown hairs - typically the result of thicker hair growth. Applying it using cotton wool or a cloth/towel after shaving reduces (but doesn't COMPLETELY eradicate) the presence of those unsightly red bumps, only real drawback being the stinging sensation when it touches your skin, but at least you can tell it's working! All in all a great product that delivers on what it promises, I wouldn't be without it!

This is not magic but it certainly helped together with the Ingrowing Hair Tweezers. I have been clear for over 6 months now.

Unlike many similar creams/lotions, this works. I've used it for two years and wouldn't be without it.
