Great little book. Plenty to read on a cold night in.
Or not so cold if you get a fire started ;-)

2.0 out of 5 stars It's all common sense 20 Jan 2014

Yes it does contain fifty methods of starting fires without matches but. Some of of the methods appear a little farfetched. I have not tried it but using urine in a clear sided plastic sandwich bag ? In fairness it does say that you may need the assistance of prayer to make that method work.

I would say a decent reference book that would supplement fire building experience and knowledge, but start by learning yourself and reading good survival manuals first.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting little book 29 Aug 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Bought this as a KIndle book. Only takes half an hour to read but gives you some new ways to start a fire. Cheap and cheerful. It could easily be expanded but it IS called 50 Methods for Starting Fires... so it can use up a few minutes for you.

Simple but effective
Quite bizzare the ideas using a motor car,I would thought that if you had a car you could use the lighter, or just go to a garage and buy a box of matches........
