This is the fourth of the new Lifelong Learning:Personal Effectiveness Guides by Rosalie Marsh. which draw from her extensive skills & industrial experience in sales management and work-based learning in adult and further education. In two parts, Skills for Employability focuses on some of the skills you need in order to impress an employer, stand out from the rest, become and stay employed, and enhance your future. Part Two looks at the standards of behaviour and requirements of employers: introduction to health and safety in the workplace and Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) ; the business environment - good working relationships; the importance of good customer service. Important aspects of managing your money and healthy living are also covered and prompts to learner to ask 'Where do I go from here?' as they look to other development opportunities. Each chapter details the learning outcomes and relevance to other qualifications linked to the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF). At the end of each topic, there will be a series of short practical activities for self assessment for learners to see how far they have 'travelled' in gaining knowledge and understanding. In turn this will add to a sense of achievement. All content will relate to the current gaps in knowledge& understanding and softer skills for school leavers, 16-18 year old unemployed, returners to work, learners with disabilities who are seeking a change of employment, those in employment and seeking to enhance their prospects or are between jobs.
Rosalie Marsh is an award-winning author and a native of Lancashire with Irish roots.She is a member of the Society of Authors.
Today she lives in North Wales where she settled with her husband and growing family. Rosalie has written many academic,vocational,technical and research materials in her long and varied career in banking,sales management,and further education. It was during this latter period that she gained a BA (Hons) Education Degree from the Manchester Metropolitan University.
Rosalie retired to concentrate on her writing. Her first book Just Us Two:Ned and Rosie's Gold Wing Discovery,Winner in the 2010 International Book Awards (Travel: Recreational category),was also a UK best seller and finalist in the USA Book News 2009 Best Books Awards.In 2011 Rosalie published Chasing Rainbows:with Just Us Two - a sequel to Just Us Two. In 2011 Rosalie also launched her Lifelong Learning:Personal Effectiveness Guides which cover a variety of development topics such as CPD,employability, and public speaking. More will follow. They all draw from her extensive skills and experience in sales management and adult&continuing education in work-based learning.
Rosalie has an active programme of book events and is available for speaking engagements on aspects of her travels or aspects of learning and development based on her books which are an invaluable resource.
