Book Description

Michael just moved and everything goes wrong: he is away from his friends and his little sister is sick. But one day, exploring the garage ruins, he has a strange encounter: a man lives there, crouching in the dark, without moving. He lay there behind some crates and rubble in the darkness. He was pale, dirty, parched... At first I thought he was dead. I was completely wrong. I will soon discover that there was nothing in the world more alive than him. Who is he? Where did he come from? Michael and his new neighbour Mina are determined to solve this mystery...

I ordered this for my niece, having read it earlier this year with my son and thought it one of the best children's books I have ever read. It arrived and it is written in French…. no where can I see any mention of this! Most disgruntled.

Looking at the book now it seems clear that it is in French. When I purchased a few weeks ago I missed any mention of French that may or may not have been there.
The book was recommended so I will try again to get the English version for my grandson, probably from another website, just as my personal little protest.

This is an unusual, subtle and emotional story. Never sentimental but you may find a tear or two sliding down your cheek. Written for older children but so beautiful anyone older would be drawn in.
