This is my second pair!
on 6 October 2014
There's a skechers shop in the city where I used to live, but not in Galway, so I wanted to buy the same pair of runners again - because they are perfect for me - but couldn't find them in any shop here.
I bought my original pair after a failed experiment with Vibram Fives Shoeless-Shoes which hurt badly when I ran. Insted, these were flat, flexible and super light. I used to worry too much about my footwear and not enough about my stretching. I had a pair of €175 runners with €250 orthotic supports in them and kept injuring my knees. I gave up and bought these runners because they were cheap, light and thin. In short, my knee injuries only went away with a simple, thin soled shoe, running on my toes and using a foam roller on my IT-bands.
Buy these if: You want a hard wearing, lightweight shoe with minimal sole between you and the road.
Don't buy these if: You want shock-absorbing, military-grade, super-soles.
For more on this, I recommend reading Born to Run.
