Image of Avril Lavigne

When singer, songwriter, and musician Avril Lavigne first burst upon the music scene at age 17, she was known as a young, pop-punk tomboy who refused to resort to skin-baring come-ons, preferring to entice the record-buying public with her powerhouse voice, high-spirited melodies, and straight-talking lyrics. Staying steadfastly true to herself and putting music before image paid off both ... Read more in Amazon's Avril Lavigne Store

Avril Lavigne is an 18 year old girl from the tiny town (population 5000) of Napanee, Ontario in Canada. But this album is as fresh and new everytime you listen to it as it would be is she released a new album every week. Anything But Ordinary is my favourite track out of all 13 of them, leading simply because it makes you listen a bit more that other tracks and is just so unique, like Avril herself. Then there's I'm With You, a slowie with wonderfully high choruses just like Anything But Ordinary.
Then Complicated, Too Much To Ask and Naked- just plain brilliant, real music that kind of pulls your ears towards the sound trying to make you listen. But you don't even have to try. Avril does it for you. All the other songs- just simple excellence again- unique, clever... there are a 1,000,000 positive words that would describe Avril, but unfortunatelt this is only a 1000 word max. review. Maybe one day I'll get to meet her and say those one million words to her face... maybe...
words that would describe Avril, but unfortunately this is a 1000

A great chance to revisit a childhood memory barely anything. I knew I wasn't expecting the case to be immaculate but the cd works and plays perfectly. 9.8/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great single from Avril Lavigne 15 Dec 2002
By Elly
Format:Audio CD
The first track on this cd, 'sk8er boi' is the story of a skater, who falls in love with a popular prep. All of her friends look down on the guy, but secretly she likes him. Afraid of what her friends would say, she turns the guy down.
Five years later she is home alone and switches on MTV. There is the sk8er dude, he is a famous rockstar. she calls all of the friends who looked down on him when he asked he out, and they know all about him, and they all bought tickets to see his show. She goes with them, and looks up at him. Then she is told that he is with someone else, and that they are in love.
The whole story represents what happened to Avril while she was at school, the sk8er boi symbolises her. with rocking accompaniment, and a catchy tune, sk8er boi is definately worth getting.
Get over it is also another good song.
Nobodys fool live version is brilliant. The song is all about how she refuses to be changed by anybody, and that she is her own person. This song is pne of my favourites on the album, and the live version is even better!
This is a CD which is DEFINATELY worth getting in my opinion. A must for any Avril fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sk8er Girl! 31 May 2003
By Eugenia - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Sk8er Boi is the second single from Let Go, and it's an amazing song! It could be categorized like "melodic punk", but she doesn't like very much the "P" word. I really love this song! I supposed that I decided to buy "Let Go" when I heard this cut. Well, the single also incluides a "new" song or b-side called "Get Over It", which is very nice, kind of "pop-rock" melody. This is a truly powerful song and I think you are going to think the same!
And the last track is "Nodoby's Fool" live in Vancouver. His song is cool, she raps a little when she sings, saying "Fall back, that a look at me and you'll see I'm for real". I like the lyrics of that song, they are really great.
And this single is enhanced, so it contains the "Sk8er Boi" video. What can I say about? It is the BEST! I just love this since I watched it for the first time. She just rocks!
If you still have any doubts, I only can say that you MUST have it, simple because Avril really ROCKS!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best song from her debut CD 16 Dec 2005

This is a completely amazing song. The first time I heard it was on her website, and after that, I bought the CD the next day and I loved it!

Even though, this is my 2nd favorite Avril's song (the 1st one is Nobody's Home, of course), I didn't like very much that she started the concerts from her "Bonez Tour" with this song...here in Southamerica, in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and also Mexico, and I don't know where else, she started with this song, and the show beginning was kinda the same she used in her 2003 concerts...

Whatever, this song is really really cool and the video is...not very good, though, but very entertaining.

Great song, and most important, great album!
