You dont have to have an interest in HIV, South Africa or even health care to get a lot out of this book. If you do, its a must read. But even if you dont, its a most beautifully crafted book about a community, about change and about people coming to terms with so much.....

One of the best books on South Africa's AIDS crisis. Well worth a read for anybody interested in Africa, South Africa or AIDS policy.

This is Steinberg at his best. Highly recommended!

Jonny Steinberg again looks at major social issues through the prism of an individual's experience. Beautifully written, easy to read and full of insights into AIDS in Africa.
