EXCELLENT COMPILATION FROM A SUPREMELY TALENTED & UNDERATED TRUE ENGLISH ROCK/FOLK/POP BAND(SOME CLASS AS GOTH,BUT I WOULD'NT PUT THEM IN THAT CATERGORY). VERY TALENTED SONGWRITER'S & A FEMALE VOCALIST IN JULIANNE REGAN WHOM OWNS ONE OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE VOICES EVER HEARD.THEY PRODUCED SHEER MAGICAL MEMORIES & ALSO A RARE GIFT OF NOT WRITING A BAD SONG!.
IT WOULD BE HEAVENLY JUSTICE IF THIS BAND WERE PUT BACK ON THE MAP WHERE THEY BELONG & A RECORD COMPANY OR LABEL GAVE THEM THAT CHANCE.THEIR MUSIC IS TIMELESS,BEAUTIFUL & WONDERFUL,SHEER ROMANTICISM AT IT'S PINNACLE.
THEREFORE IT IS POINTLESS INDIVIDUALLY RATING EACH SONG,THEIR ALL SUPERB!.

All About Eve first came to prominence in the mid eighties when Julianne Regan along with Andy Cousin and Tim Bricheno formed the band. All About Eve quickly established themselves through constant gigging and a number of popular independent releases before signing a major deal with Phonogram. The band would go on to enjoy huge success wit two albums and a number of hit singles before splitting in 1987. Julianne Regan went o to other projects including Jules et Jim and Mice before deciding with Andy Cousin and Marty Wilson Piper to re form All About Eve in 1999.
Since then the band has recorded two live albums, one a full band affair and another acoustic album in the time honoured unplugged mode. There has also been a live DVD and an archive release featuring rare recordings and demos. All this is good and well and in many ways clears the decks for the band to move forward. In fact in many ways the band had to do this in order to concentrate on new material. The first fruits of this new material was the single Let Me Go Home which garnered great critical acclaim and also saw the band back in the singles charts and is included on this collection.
This compilation includes a good cross section of the bands material including some of the earliest material All About Eve committed to tape including the demo version of Every Angel from the album Return To Eden which gathers together many tracks from the bands formative days.
We have also included acoustic versions of Martha's Harbour and Scarlet both of which will be known to long time fans of the band. The other more rock inspired side of the band however is also in evidence here and we have live versions of Touched By Jesus and Shelter From The Rain from the Live and Electric album.
The current line up of All About Eve including original members Julianne Reagan, Andy Cousin alongside relative newcomers Toni Haimi and Ben Savigear is considered to be the best the band have ever had and that even includes the original line up. There is however still something inherently beautiful about the band but at the same time there is substance to be found in the new line up which was something that had always been there but before had only been hinted at. All About Eve in the twenty first century are a band at their peak and one, which you will ignore at your peril as you will hear over the next sixty minutes.
For this compilation we have included many tracks that you will be familiar with although we have tried to include versions that you may not be familiar with in order to demonstrate the breadth of talent contained within this band.

There are way to many of these available that are much better. This is repackaged and not necessary.
Buy their live albums and whatever you can track down for studio cd's. Keepsakes is a decent mix, especially the DVD.
Save you cash and spend it on something necessary (the debut or Scarlet).
