Product Description

Product Description

Written for my grandchildren, 'Sixties kids' is easy to read, but also suitable for yesterdays women and men of that exciting time in history. A personal memoir of a sixties childhood in swinging sixties Britain, with memories of childhood and family relationships, country school life, and games played at home and at school. The author tells of the family activities, the sixties toys of the day, sixties fashion, and of the music, and childhood activities played with her friends in the small village where she was born and grew up. Sixties kids, recalls a childhood memoir of her growing up 'Tomboy' years when most of her friends were girlie and played with dolls and prams, she preferred the rough and tumble play and adventures.
A family and childhood look at the sixties of bygone years when children had more freedom and came to no harm in the small towns and villages of country life in Britain where you could leave your door open all day and night. From child to teenager, it is full of fun and adventure, a must for anyone who enjoys sixties nostalgia and a peek down memory lane at children and women of the sixties. Packed with children's adventures and school life stories, a blast from the past for those who grew up in the sixties and girls and boys from the present. (Ideal as a school study education book 4th-6th grade, 9-12 year old primary school book.)

About the Author

I was born and still live in Wales Britain, in the beautiful County of Pembrokeshire. I live on a farm where we raise sheep and cattle. I run a small caravan site catering mostly for the summer visitors, which keeps me busy for few weeks of the year. I wrote this book specifically for my Grandchildren who live, and were born in Florida. 'Sixties kids 'is about my childhood in sixties Britain. I published on Createspace to have physical copies for them to own and keep, hopefully for their own children as well.

A cracking book, I bought this for my grandson to show him what life was like back in the sixties, and what games we played and invented. He was amazed we did not electronic games and computers as we made our own fun similar to those in the book. I read it too and enjoyed a nostalgic trip down memory lane, i would recommend for young and old alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars A trip back in time to the sixties. 19 July 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The book was originally bought to help my daughter who was doing a school project on life in the sixties, the teacher ended up using it as a reference book for the class. I read it as my mother was a child of the sixties and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth the purchase.
