After reading the previous Sixties Boys books by this author I was looking forward to the third book of this series. I wasn`t disappointed, it is a great read.

It is a hilarious but moving story that captures the Sixties to a present day setting about the lives and loves of five ageing Rock musicians who go on tour and try to live the dream again.

This book would appeal to all ages and I would thoroughly recommend it.

After having read The Sixties Boys and Sixties Boys Unzipped I was so pleased to see that Alan Hammond had another Sixties Boys book published.

The Sixties Boys on Tour is written in such a way that I, the reader, felt very much part of the book. The atmosphere and excitement of being part of the Sixties in the first two books and then following them up to the present in The Sixties Boys on Tour has been delightful. The book is full of surprises, happy and sad moments, a book hard to put down until you have finished it.

Dave Berry has written the foreword and this in itself was a nice surprise.

Having read the two previous Sixties Boys books I looked forward to the third to complete the trilogy and wasn't disappointed. The author has brought the 'ageing' band bang up to date with the characters still sharply defined, as before, a bit more worldly wise, but definitely not boring. The relationships and ongoing issues were totally believable, definitely not contrived. For anyone who hasn't read the two previous books it isn't necessary as the author gives a brief but concise background to characters and events. Having said that I'm glad I read the first two!! Do hope that there is more to come from this author.
