This is a fast action book set in both the present time and in the period following the defeat of the Jacobites at Culloden. It is a well research story - although you may find you want to have some maps out at times when you are reading it. It raises some thought provocking themes on contemporary problems. A good read which can be passed round all the family.

This book is adventure and history wound into a story that intrigues and captures your imagination, while remaining true to historical facts. These facts are better learned when in a story such as this. If you don't know the Highlands, you'll want to consult a map; if you don't know which Scottish clans are related to your family, you'll want to find out; if you love rambling over the Scottish countryside, you'll understand the extreme hardship of the Highlanders fleeing Culloden. This is the kind of book that brings history alive and stimulates debate upon the author's views.
