A prize selection for spankos. --Forum magazine, January 2008

Product Description

These sixteen prize-winning stories are the cream of the crop from Palmprint's adult discipline fiction competitions, with authors from Australia, Canada, England, Scotland, USA and Wales. Plus a bonus story by Sarah Veitch.

A bare bottom served up for punishment will always give the discerning reader an erotic charge, and there's no shortage of such reluctantly-exposed flesh in this collection. In a diverse range of settings and themes, most of the miscreants are female but two males are also soundly taken to task.

L'Ancien Regime by Michael Redbrick; Goddess by Tulsa Brown; Way Out West by Suzee Moon and Stan Strap; A New Understanding by Pearl Jones; Cat Fight at the Lucky Seven by Stan Strap; Disobedience a la carte by Kit; Disobedience, Passion and the Unjust Whip by J.D. Jensen; Broken Vows by Ruby Kola; The Mercy of Strange Men by Aimee Nichols; Lessons by Alicia Wag; Beloved Birch by James Baron; The Key to the Unknown by Sarah Dean; Think Pink by Bruce Anderson; Rubious - The Colour of Rubies by Mark Ramsden; Come Here by Katharine Tyler Brooks; How Not to Manage Debt by Jean Roberta; Hard Times by Sarah Veitch.

This review is from: Sixteen of the Best (Paperback)
The first book from this publisher that I've read, Sixteen of the Best is the result of previous years' short story competitions.

They've published the best of the best, plus a bonus story from editor Sarah Veitch. Although I haven't read any of Palmprint's other books to pass comment on this, the stories in this book are certainly of a very high standard. They're all really well written, and keep to the theme of the book. There's nothing worse than an anthology which has a theme, then certain stories don't fit it!

If you're into BDSM and CP, you'll doubtless enjoy this book. It's definitely on the more extreme end, it contains caning and real pain as opposed to the playful slap on the arse you may find in a less niche story. Please pardon the cliche, but this book is definitely what it says on the tin and I'll be looking out for more from this publisher.
