Like many others, I've been waiting for what seems like an eon for this album - usually this is a recipe for a serious let down ... but not with 'The Six Grand Plot'. I absolutely love this album - I've played it more than any other album so far this year! You can hear influences of Oasis & Kings of Leon but they are very definitely Officer Kicks!
I love all tracks but Mona Lisa, for me, really stands out - great lyrics, great tune! Who else could write a song about a painting & make it work? Awesome!!
Buy this album you will not be sorry and probably very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the songs - many of them would make good singles including: Mona Lisa, Underrub (if a bit risque), Tongue-tied, Nip and Tuck, The Chopper, Dirty Sally.
Dog Day Rush was the first single taken from the album and 'Pictures of Me' is the current single. The later has made the Xfm radio playlist.
I have seen Officer Kicks live and they really are brilliant - very lively, they grab the audience by the short and curly's and before you know it you are singing along and stomping to the music.
Oi Oi. Watch out for Officer Kicks ... you are going to hear much more of them.
