About the Author
Born and raised in south central Iowa, Kathleen Bacus grew up with a love of family, books, and horses. A career in law enforcement wherein Kathy became one of the first female state troopers in Iowa—accomplished with the requisite sense of humor—along with a stint as a consumer fraud investigator provide all the ingredients for her unique brand of hometown whodunits, like Kathy’s Calamity Jayne Mysteries, her flagship series.
The mother of four, including a set of triplets, Kathy has held on to her saddles in anticipation of the day she wins the lottery and can buy a horse ranch. Until then, she won’t quit the day job and plans to continue writing the books her readers can count on for a down-home good time—cockeyed cowgirl–style.
