Product Description

As I say on the first page, very first line, this is not a “cute kitty” book. I started out to create just that, but my cast of characters swiftly dug in their claws, insisting I tell their true story. Consequently, this comedy/drama turned out to be a very personal memoir. Six special cats are still the headline-grabbing stars of the show, but their human companions (my family) fill pivotal supporting roles.

ISubjects touched upon include grieving the loss of human and four-footed loved ones, moving cross-country with kids and pets, and living with a disabling genetic illness. I have tried to lighten the heavy stuff with smatterings of humor, but you still might want a tissue or two.

Most of all, this is a love story about the deep, unbreakable bonds I have shared with my adopted feline children.

I'm a cat and dog lover, currently I have 6 cats and 2 dogs, previously I have had 8 cats.I like books about animals, and having 6 cats myself thought this would be a good book for me.However very early on in the book the author talks about De-clawing her cat Pepper, and that was such a turn off for me I tried to keep reading but just couldn't.No true cat lover declaws their cats, its illegal here in the UK I'm pleased to say, and its a horrible idea that its done in the States, thats why we have scratch posts around the house for the cats, if the idea of a cat having claws as nature intended is too much for you, personally I think having cats is not for you, its not just me either, I have talked to 4 other cat lovers and asked them if I am being too harsh. They agree they wouldn't read a book about cats by someone who thinks its acceptable to declaw their cats,I asked my partner if they wanted to read the book, and they said no too, so its going to be removed from my kindle without being read all the way through, so I wasted my money, sorry not for me,or any other cat lovers I know.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not exactly action packed... 10 Jun 2012

The author appears to think that having six cats is unusual. It's not. The cats don't really do anything that is worth writing a book about.
The sections about the authors medical condition are a lot more interesting than the passages about the cats.
We always had cats when I was a child and I still have one now, but I don't think my experiences warrant writing a book.
Just because you can write a book, doesn't mean you should!
I totally agree with another UK resident Mrs. A. Thomas-davis (Wales) who also wrote a one star review, about the de-clawing. Cats wouldn't be cats without their claws.
I got the book when it was free. I'm just glad I didn't pay for it.
