Remake of 'The Hand That Rocks the Cradle' my favourite film ever. Without Rebecca De Mornay my favourite actress, so iconic and chilling in the nanny role, this version could be bad but isn't. Since I like these kind of films anyway, it was clever and rare for a TV remake, to include graphic murder scenes, genuine scares and decent acting, considering the low budget, it has the quality, look and feel of a big Hollywood film, the director makes the most of what he has been given and I thank him for it. The film will work better if you think of it as a black comedy/tongue in cheek remake as it makes watching the film very enjoyable. Mariana Klaveno (True Blood, Though None Go With Me), who is not as beautiful as De Mornay but in acting ability, very intimidating indeed as Abby Reed. The plot was built up well, at the start you see Abby as a child holed up in an attic in her mother's home you want to find out what happened, how it makes her psychological state of mind unfold, how far she will go to get what she wants out of this family. Last line of the film is bad but enjoy everything that happened before.
