choices, even if a bit boring, and as part of the Big Sister Program,
she has little time for anything more in her life.
.
Blake Carter is a player. He never gets bored of conquering women, and with
his sexy good looks and successful lifestyle, he has no trouble finding

tragic accident, he suddenly, desperately, wants to change his ways. The
problem is, he doesn't know how to stop doing what he does best.
.
When Blake walks into Danica's office, the attraction between them is white
hot, but Danica isn't the type to give into the heat and risk her
career. Danica's desire sets her on a path of self-discovery, where she
begins to question every decision she's ever made. Just this once,
Danica wants to indulge in the pleasures of life she's been so willingly
ignoring, but with her Little Sister in turmoil and her biological
sister's promiscuousness weighing heavily on her heart, she isn't sure
it's the right time to set her desires free.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just romance 26 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I starting reading this book I expected boy meets girl, tension, arguments, then happily ever after. A fair few of those elements are in the story, but what surprised me greatly, is that is so more more than just romance. I won't give story lines away, but the book covers characters who battle with demons, inadequacies, tragedy and worry. It also has a few clever twists and turns that I didn't expect and left me wanting more.

I have read a few of Melissa Foster's other books, and these are very different, but good different. I can't wait to get started on the rest of the series, I want to know what happens to these characters, I need to learn more about them. If you are looking for a great read I definitely recommend this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great story 30 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I wasn't quite sure what I expected of this book, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It was thoroughly enjoyed and read very quickly.

I like stories that centre around sister relationships I have a sister myself and because of this I found Danica and Kaylie very relatable. Danica Snow works as a therapist and is the smart, sensible one out of the two sisters; like me and Kaylie is the beautiful, creative one, like my sister! Danica is an excellent and very convincing therapist. At times I wanted her to use her own words of advice on herself. She is a serious workaholic and due to her work she second guesses everything. She has low self-esteem and I got frustrated with her for putting herself down and comparing herself to her sister all the time. Kaylie comes across as the strong, confident one, but there is more depth to her that she keeps hidden.

I can't not mention Blake! Blake is a player, and an idiot in my eyes and unsurprisingly Danica's. But she can't help feeling something for him. She tries to put him out of her mind, but Blake's circumstances change and he ends up in Danica's office with her as his therapist. There is a lot of tension between the two of them at times and Danica has to reign in her feelings, especially with Blake being a client. I think I would have trouble myself as Blake, despite being a player is hot! I liked how there was a deeper side to him and as I read along, I just wanted them to both realise that they should be together!

This was more than just a romance story. It is a story about the different relationships that family, friends and others have with one another, and it was a journey of self discovery for each and every character.

I will definitely be reading the next in the series Sisters in Bloom as I really want to learn more about Kaylie and see her side of the story. Sisters in Love is a fantastic start to this series!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother 16 May 2014

I don't like to quit a book in the middle, but this is the exception. It's hard work and nothing is happening and I've reached 50%! Sorry but really not recommended.

I wouldn't say this was specifically a Christmas story. Set in winter, yes. A Christmas tree does feature once and of course, there is snow and skiing in the village.

My initial reaction to this story was, oh here we go! It's going to be about this guy and his conquests and tricks. Clichéd. But as the story progressed and the characters developed it was apparent that the author was not going down the route I initially thought I was on. I liked the characters and particularly the way the dialogue/relationship between Danica, the therapist and Blake her patient/client developed. The focus on Danica and those she helped was interesting, also the relationship between Blake and his friend's family. Yes, there were some parts I found annoying and wondered if they really were necessary in any great detail but there are few books that please the reader totally. I must admit once it really got going it was one of those reads that are difficult to put down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great start to the series 2 Oct 2013
By Sharon TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Danica Snow has always been the smart sister who was encouraged to make the most of her brain whereas her younger sister Kaylie is flighty and does what she wants when she wants, so it's no surprise that she's become a successful psychologist who also mentors a young teenager Michelle as part of a 'Big Sister' program. The other main character in the book is Blake Carter who is the ultimate playboy who is definitely not ready to settle down.

I was sort of expecting this to be girl meets guy and falls in love which would have been OK as I love a good slushy romance story but there is so much more to this book than that as it also deals with some sensitive topics as well as including some comedic moments. One of the funniest was the initial 'meeting' of Danica and Blake in a busy coffee shop which I could picture happening as if I was there.

Having now read two completely different style of books from Melissa Foster, both of which I enjoyed, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for further books from her including the rest of the books in the Love in Bloom series.
