Book Description

7 July 2005
Two sisters, two separate ways, one unbreakable friendship - Sisters Hannah and Juliet have been best friends for as long as they can remember, but after a year of tragedy and celebration, they suddenly face very different futures. Hannah, newly married to City solicitor Michael and pregnant with their first child, has her ambitions fixed on a dream house in South London's affluent Nappy Valley. All, for her, is as good as it gets. Juliet is not so settled. Haunted by the death of the man she loved, she is soon neglecting both her boyfriend Guy and her promising career in brand consultancy. On increasingly wild nights out with friends Kate and Larry, she'll stop at nothing to obliterate the memories of past betrayals. But as Hannah struggles to recognise the man she married and falls under the influence of single mother Siobhan, Juliet finally learns to take back the life she always wanted. Over and over, the sisters' friendship is challenged - until Juliet finds herself faced with one secret too many.

5.0 out of 5 stars sisters everywhere will love it!! 22 Feb 2005
Format:Paperback
I was lucky enough to get hold ofa proof copy of this book (usually just for journalists) and I'm so glad - I couldn't wait until July! This book rocks! The two main characters, Hannah and Juliet, are really true to life and I couldn't wait to find out what happens to them (without giving too much away I will just say I had a feeling they couldn't BOTH have happy endings!!) If you know anyone who lives in a so-called 'Nappy Valley' area some of the scenes will ring sooo true.
NO ONE can start the last two chapters (where allt he characters meet at a party at Hannah's house) and not read it in one go, maybe even one breath!
I recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars An easy read 22 May 2011
By EssexReader VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Take two sisters, one philandering husband and you have a story of betrayal and secrets. This was an easy and reasonably enjoyable read although I did find some of the many outer characters quite annoying. The two sisters, Hannah and Juliet, are well drawn characters, each with their faults, although I think that some of the others, for example Michael and, to some extent, Guy could have been expanded - you didn't really learn much about them and in particular Michael, who was a main character, seemed one dimensional. One slightly irritating part of the book for me was the time shift backwards and forwards between some chapters - this led to gaps in the story which weren't explained until later on in the book. There was one part of the book that really didn't ring true - I don't know whether pregnancy hormones could be blamed for such behaviour - if not, you might think you were reading a Secret Seven book! The ultimate friendship and love - albeit sometimes quite cold and distant, between the two sisters was very well told. This isn't fluffy chic lit but if you want an easy holiday read then this would do very well. Note: This book has also been published as "I'll be there for you".
