A friend lent me this book - at first I though, tacky cover, probably won't like it. But boy, it's a revelation. The women's lives in the army, their conflict, relationships, individual stories are brilliantly told. It's such an insight, and so different, it's clever too. If you're sick of scmaltzy girly books - read this, and be refreshed. Why isn't it a TV series? It'd be fantastic on the telly

You need to have been around the Army at some point in your life to really appreciate the humour generated by this authoress, but I still think it is a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have read every novel Catherine Jones has ever written. I hope she will start writing some more soon!

As a Serving female in the Army I found this book highly believable. It is written in such a witty and gripping way I couldnt put it down. This book has got to be one of the best Ive read in years and one of the quickest Ive ever read!
