5.0 out of 5 stars Marissa Nadler - The Sister 29 April 2013
Format:Audio CD
Here lies an absolutely stunning collection of songs performed with such poise, beauty and passion. Nadler's touching melancholy and sirenesc performance leads an eclectic folknoir croon and serenading sound.

Mesmerising guitar arpeggios dazzling with rich overtones cycle along side dreamy lyrics, often speaking of life changing moments and guilt free confessionals. Interestingly, many of her songs actually "end" rather than fade out.

There doesn't seem to be any struggle for soul searching or disparate creativity, all of her music finds a resting place few other artists rarely achieve.

An outstanding mesmerising collection of songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely album. 4 Feb 2013

Great album. Full of the melodic dark sort of sound that I love. Marissa Nadler is one of the few artists I don't get sick of after listening to her for a long time. Most of the time, in fact, I play through her whole discography, straight through. It's really all very lovely.
