Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Whoopi Goldberg returns in a gratuitous, poorly written sequel that contrives a reason to get her character back into Maggie Smith's convent. The "socially conscious" plot finds Goldberg being asked to relate to a bunch of street kids and pull them together into a choir. Since a bad guy is needed, the script grabs that old chestnut about a rich guy (James Coburn) preparing to close down the convent's school, and runs with it. The film is slow and unconvincing from start to finish, although co-stars Mary Wickes and Kathy Najimy get some good laughs, and the music is pretty spirited. --Tom Keogh

By Benson VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
Like most films starring Whoopi Goldberg this film doesn't dissapoint. Whoopi as Deloris becomes an undercover nun once again - this time in order to rehabilitate an awkward, urban school. I personally think this film has more appeal to young people than the first being quite inspirational, but doesn't quite live up to the first.

However, it is still brilliant and I found it really interesting to see such famous faces as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Lauryn Hill (who steals the show) as teenagers.

On DVD the film dissapoints with no extras but both the picture quality and sound is excellent. If you liked the first film or believe in hip-hoppy religious music as restorative - buy this now!

It must be said that this is the best sequel that you're gonna find. With a stunning cast, and Whoopi Goldberg returning in great comedy form, it's hard to go wrong. However unlikely the story may seem, it is very spirited, with a superb soundtrack including the impeccable voice of Lauryn Hill. And, yes, I too am a musician, but anyone can relate to the music, because it is so upbeat, and I most definately sing along as I'm sure everyone will and do.

Musical Sensation! 10 Jan 2005
Format:DVD
This film really is very uplifting and pleasanlty simple. With a whitty storyline and colourful characters, Sister Act 2 is a great easy-to watch film. In this sequel, Whoopi Goldberg returns to save the day, pulling a group of troubled youths together through their mutual love for music. It is the musical aspect of this film that makes it shine, with the voice of Lauryn Hill being most poignant. Hill's troubled character's experiences during this film also offer hope for any aspiring singers or actresses, who's dreams are suppressed as a result of their parents or freinds lack of belief in their talents.
Overall this is a great all-round film and definately worth buying!
