A Good start,

Nimbus records made this complication after Tippett's and it's a collection of previosly relesed material mostly conducted by the composer.The box contains a nice variety of music for the unexperiensed Tippett fan. Personaly I would have enjoyed have one of his symphonies on this record. There aren't a lot of Tippett recording on the market, but if you are looking for "the best" recording of his music I would prefer the Chandos/Hickox series, or (if you can find them)the out of print Phillips/Decca/Colin Davis recordings.
