Sir Malcolm's composing career has spanned some sixty years - his compositions in the widest selection of genres are well-known and well-loved by generations of musicians and audiences alike. His uniquely exuberant, brilliantly-scored music appeals to musicians of all ages.
Douglas Bostock, in his second album on RLPO Live, conducts a programme selected to represent as much of Sir Malcolm's output as possible, and spanning nearly thirty years of his composing career. The booklet includes extensive notes on Sir Malcolm's music written by Lewis Foreman, together with a chronology of the composer's life to date.
