Product Description

Review

"You know who your friends are when the room goes dark and everybody leaves. When the light comes on and you look around, your friends are the only ones still there with you." Sir Alex Ferguson

Product Description

Manchester United fans have a fickle reputation. Players are often singled out for criticism while others can get away with murder. This was never truer than in the late 1980s when Ferguson, following a stuttering start to his Old Trafford career, was scapegoated by supporters. Here the author, one of the few to have actively supported United's manager during this bleak period, details his remarkable relationship with United's legendary manager.

5.0 out of 5 stars You must buy this book, 15 Jan 2003
This review is from: Sir Alex, United and Me: A Tale of Footballing Obsession (Mass Market Paperback)
Amazingly you don't have to be a Man Utd fan to appreciate this book.
It has managed to grasp the fundementals that every football fan experiences in supporting their team.
The joys, the heartbreak and indeed, the sheer madness that every fan goes through every Saturday.
A remarkable achievement in that it reflects exacly what each soccer fan feels. This book has a foreword written by Sir Alex Ferguson, which is probably a first for a book written for fans by a fan, in which he says "I laughed, I cried...probably the best book ever written about being a football supporter."
Nuff said...he's right!

An excellent book for football fans, the bloke is a real fan and obviously a bit of a fruitbat - his boy's name...maybe he should have gone with "Dangerous"!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for football fans all over, 3 April 2003
This review is from: Sir Alex, United and Me: A Tale of Footballing Obsession (Mass Market Paperback)
A great book. written by a great person. Great to read, and the type of book you can read, put it back on the shelf, and read again a month or two later. A story every football fan in the world, and as much as I am not a Man U fan, I love this story. Buy it.
