My 1st Georgina Gentry book & now I'm hooked! 11 May 2005
By It's - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I couldn't put this book down! The book begins with a spoiled southerner "Rand" who gets captured by the Sioux and is given to "Kimi" a widow (who never consumated the marriage) as her husband was killed in the raid that Rand was captured in, on her wedding night. The tribe lets her keep him as a slave, since she has no man to help provide for her. Rand realizes he has to try to make Kimi fall for his charm, his only hope to escape. Kimi's mother is afraid of the looks between the two and sets Rand free, only to take Kimi as a hostage. The two end up having a passionate night and soon after, Rand helps save a brave, before he could get back to his people, and is welcomed into the tribe and becomes Kimi's man. He stays enjoying the freedom of Sioux life and the pleasure between him & Kimi. Later, he's captured by whites and is sent back to his people... Of course there's a happy ending! I won't say more, but this book was interesting from the very first chapter and couldn't get enough of it.

I loved this book, but after looking for others by

Georgina Gentry & reading her "Apache Caress" I enjoyed it so much more, so only rated this a 4.

Title: Sioux Slave
Author: Georgina Gentry
Genre: Historical Romance
Rating: 4 stars
Summery: Rand's wounded and left behind when his patrol retreats. Captured by Lakota, he is given to the new bride of the warrior who died during the fight. Kimi is shocked to find herself widowed before even really becoming a wife. Though the tribe excepts her to take revenge against the captive, she finds herself draw to him and doesn't want to harm him.

I'm really happy to see her stories finally coming to Kindle! They are full of well researched historical details. I hope to see or hear about Rand and Kimi in the future too.

Most of her books are related to each other, but some of the ones most related to this one are...
-Quicksilver Passion; Rand has a small part in this story and you can learn what happened to Cherokee Evans.
-Nevada Nights; Rand's cousin, Quint Randolph's story.
-Cheyenne Caress; Johnny Ace's story. You meet his brother Terry in Sioux Slave.
-Cheyenne Captive & Cheyenne Splendor are both about Iron Knife, who was mentioned once in this story, and Summer.

I loved this story as well Georgia! I have a soft spot for Indians, I too am married to a man who is part Indian, Cherokee, we both wish we had been born back then, I truly would have been his white captive, I would have chose to stay with him and become a white Indian woman. I am looking forward to starting the next book by you. I know I'll enjoy it just as much as I have this story.
