Product Description

The past returns to haunt Nick Randall when a celebrity biographer claims to have evidence of his late father's involvement in a terrible crime. If it comes out, the tabloids will have a field day: Eddie Randall was a popular comedy actor in the 1960s. Nick goes in search of the truth and unexpectedly finds it impacts on a major insurance scam he is investigating. Then his estranged wife is found dead - and Nick realises that an unknown enemy is stalking him...

The acclaimed first thriller from author David Harrison, aka TOM BALE, author of THE CATCH.

'Tom Bale is one of the best British thriller writers around' Simon Kernick

REVIEWS:
"Occasionally brutal, but very readable... this writer seems to me to have real potential. I look forward to his next book." Martin Edwards, TANGLED WEB

"Sins of the Father is a wonderful, exciting read full of twists and turns... This is a sterling effort from a new face on the crime scene."
Chris Simmons, CRIMESQUAD

"Sins of the Father is a rattling good read... a writer to watch for sure."
Sharon Wheeler, REVIEWING THE EVIDENCE

Praise for David Harrison (writing as TOM BALE):
"What truly sells SKIN AND BONES is Bale's almost cinematic storytelling style, along the lines of what Lee Child does with his Jack Reacher series."
Jim Winter, JANUARY MAGAZINE

Had already read and enjoyed two books by Tom Bale and decided to give this early one of his as David Harrison a go. Not disappointed. Very well crafted and written. Highly enjoyable. Definitely recommended.

3 of 5 people found the following review helpful
Format:Paperback
With two murders, some child abuse and a frisson of lesbian activity by chapter four, this debut novel from David Harrison certainly crackles along at a fair old pace. Set in Brighton and the countryside of Sussex, you barely have time to tick off the tourist spots as each scene speeds you along the many plot threads. Harrison obviously knows his genre and follows the conventions of crime thrillers with all the gusto and boldness you would expect from a new writer. Could it be he has discovered a new detective hero amongst the dog-eared files of suspect insurance claims? I look forward to reading his second novel.
