Seriously - I've never written a review before but this really is quite bad. Both heads fell off both snakes and are stuck down the bathroom drain, which is more blocked than ever. It will be harder to get these out than the original blockage.

This product is completely pointless. It literally consists of velcro, poorly attatched to a flexible platic wire. The head nearly came off before I even got it into the sink. Then, after putting the head inside, the velcro tip fell off, further blocking my sink and I have not been able to get it out. Now I need to dismantle my sink to retrieve the head and do the job properly. More grief than it was worth. Save your money and craft your own tool! It will be better use than this. Or invest a few extra pounds in something that actually works.

Of the two heads received only one was properly glued in place, the other was "broken". The wire is too thin for the task as it bent out of shape before it could be introduced into the plug hole requiring a lot of manual dexterity to make it work. While it is appreciated that the item was cheap it could have been better engineered.

The idea of the product is a good one.. A velcro-like end on a flexible, plastic covered steel cable. Unfortunately the hair/gunk collecting end is so fragile that the 'Sink Snake' is absolutely useless...

If the ends were fully grafted on to the cable then this review might well be very different. But the bit of Velcro on the end which is just folded over and then -barely- stuck onto the wire, just falls off within seconds of usage. After the first one fell off I had a close look at the second and gave it a gentle wiggle and it started to come away immediately... One poke down the drain to a depth of only a couple of inches and it fell off and I had to poke around to get it out of the drain and prevent it becoming part of the general gunk itself! (It did collect the hair well though for those few brief moments!!)

Shame on 'The Out Let Store' for stocking such an item...

Throw your £1.70 down the nearest drain and you'll achieve the same end as buying this rubbish... (and it's reduced from £8.99! The mind boggles)

Tried to use the sink snake for the first time today, having bought it from a door to door seller some months ago. When I inserted it into plughole as instructed the velcro head came off at the first attempt to wiggle it, leaving a potentially worse blockage than before. Fortunately managed to retrieve it with slim jewellery pliers and then cleared the blockage with washing soda and boiling water.

On first use the cleaning head of the smaller of the 2 utensils fell off in the drail. It's only a bit of Velcro, but needs to be attached to the rod much more securely. Also, we could not get the rod to negotiate the u-bend. Altogether a waste of money.

Tried the small one on bathroom sink the Velcro tab on the end got stuck and tore off. The exact same thing happened using the larger one on the bath.
