Format: Audio CD
After his slighly insipid Capitol years, Bobby Darin in 1966 teamed with Atlantic records and two complete albums plus seven bonus tracks, making 29 tracks in all (!) from those years appear on this cd. And a wonderful collection they are, ranging from the almost lachrymonially sentimental "The Sweetheart Tree", through the bluesy "Feelin'Good", the swinging "It's Today", the agressive "Don't Rain on my Parade" to the protest song-like "We Didn't Ask to be Brought Here". The arrangements by Perry Botkin Jr., Shorty Rogers and Richard Wess provide the right backdrop to Darin's great talent. The sound quality is good, although tracks 7 to 11 sound very tubby, as if they were recorded with an old fashioned microphone to create an effect like the Beatles' "Honey Pie", but I don't think that was intentional. It is great to hear singer, songwriter, pianist and entertainer Darin (who gives Michael Bublé, Jamie Cullum and Robbie Williams a run for their money) in top form and it might serve as an ideal introduction to this wonderful and, perhaps most importantly, original talent.

Two whole albums and bonus tracks all onto two cd's. Darin putting his spin on the show tunes like 'It's Only A Paper Moon' and 'Mame' is just great and well worth the money. His untimely death in 1973 was a sad loss. Anybody who is a fan of Michael Buble or the more recent X Factor Crooner Ray Quinn, must add this Double CD to their collection.

I do not have the original LP's, but I love this CD and play it all the time and have given it as a gift previously. One of my favourites The Sweetheart Tree. I love everything Bobby Darin, even all his late sixties work it all contributes to the man he was. Have purchased Motown & Folk albums and paid good money to have converted to CD (rare albums)

Obviously, NOT, a quality product. Many audio flaws. Suspect piracy regarding this particular CD. Had both original LP's and they still sound better than this "crap."
