An excellent purchase. The transfer of Decca 78s from the 50s are incredible and make them sound really fresh and clear.
Good to hear some tracks for the first time, and the recordings are mostly full of fun and energy. There ARE some sentimental tunes (e.g. "Little Child") to offer variety.

This CD is first class. It contains many of Billy Cotton's Decca 78 RPM recordings from the late 1940s through to the mid 1950s. The quality is excellent - many of the recordings are very rare. The notes show the original Decca catalogue numbers and recording dates, together with supporting artistes.
Of the tracks included, it is really good to have "Good Companions" (from the 1956 film of the same title, Vocal by Billy Cotton); Voulez-Vous Promenade (Cotton sings in French); Lulu Had a Baby (Vocal by Alan Breeze); When You Hear Big Ben etc.
If you like Billy Cotton/nostalgia buy this CD you won't be disappointed.

I only got this cd for one track, but still found the rest of the playlist entertaining and full of memories of bygone radio days. A good product for UK fans of fifties radio.
