The first 3 boxes of Queen singles were criticised because they forced fans to pay over-the-odds for lots of tracks they already had, just to get hold of one or two rare songs they did not have on the regular albums. In a rather puzzling move, Queen and EMI have taken this criticism on board and decided to leave the rare songs off altogether this time, making a mockery of the entire, multi-box enterprise. So there's no 'Mad the Swine' (a 1973 out-take that was the b-side of 'Headlong') and no 'Lost Opportunity' (a cool blues with a Brian May lead vocal from the 'I'm Going Slightly Mad' single). There's also no point at all in buying this box set.

The whole idea of these box sets baffles me, but at least in the previous three installments Queen (or rather their company) have chosen the best possible route within the given framework: giving us the rare B-sides, which would be - to many of us - the only reason to buy these sets. However, with this final bunch, they suddenly leave that idead all behind, leaving out the few non-album tracks that were left, and giving us a collection which really has no reason of being at all. Why? Either it is because of a stupendous lack of insight in what the fans want, or it is because they want to p*ss us off. Either way, it really shows the lack of respect Queen has for their fans. This coming from someone who really is one.
