A couple of facts Mrs Hutchinson was the B-side to It Must Be Love (the GERMAN or some other import version not the UK release).
The different version of Stepping into Line is on THE PEEL SESSIONS 12" and it's a shame that it doesn't appear on here as it would be great to get them on CD
I can't wait til Vol 2 comes out that is where there should be loads of extra tracks and versions. But will it include all the versions of OUR HOUSE, including the American ones that really would make it worth while
For years I've been hoping that Madness would put their 12" remixes on cd, remastered, etc. I even mentioned it to the band the few lucky times I got to meet them. So this box set and the upcoming set are a dream come true, many years in the making.
Only one thing was incredibly disappointing with this box set, and that's the Don't Quote Me On That version used for the DQMOT 12" promo cd. This is not the mix on the 12" promo vinyl (which can also be found on the Japanese 6 track Grey Day 12"); it's merely the Don't Quote Me On That mix that's found on the Work Rest and Play ep.
Seeing as getting the promo mix on cd was a big incentive for buying the box set, I was pretty darned disapointed that the research for this box set made such an obvious mistake. In fact, the Yahoo Group that I maintain (Madness Trading Ring) was up in arms over this error for several weeks.
Still, for the completionist collector and for getting the Cardiac Arrest extended mix it's worth the price of admission. Here's to looking forward to box set 2, which will be running over with 12" mixes.
as a guess id say that volume 2's cover will be the other half of the packaging from the driving in my car single which is them puishing the car (think it may have been on the sleeve of the 12" but could be mistaken) and then they may do a "put them together to make a complete picture...of course i could be totally wrong!!
and having never heard the 12" promo version of DQMOT i couldnt comment on whether it is different but there is definitely a differnet version featured within the film "Take It Or Leave It" with a different verse, although whether this was ever featured on a release i do not know!
