Review

'A welcome addition to the French teaching field... The lyrics are accessible and delivered clearly, but their particular strength lies in their flexibility... As a component in a programme of study it offers an invigorating breath of fresh air.'

This is a brilliant teaching tool which I have used with 6 - 11 year old pupils. It is completely idiotproof. The songs are clear and easy to sing and the kids love them. Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bringing music to the classroom 22 Aug 2012
By NQT
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
For my last placement before I qualified I was informed that I would have to teach French. Having completed a German GCSE previously, my confidence in teaching the language was low however I wanted to make it enjoyable. I found and bought this fantastic resource to use in year 3 from Amazon and have not regretted it. It brought out children's confidence not only in speaking French but talking to the class in general. Singing became a regular occurance in the classroom. Even when not teaching French the children asked if we could practice the songs. This is the first time I have ever written a review however it is because this is a fantastic product to recommend. It has given me confidence to introduce the French language to primary school children and make it fun and enjoyable with the introduction of songs to reiterate key vocabulary such as greetings, numbers and months of the year.

4.0 out of 5 stars French made easy! 28 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback
A clear and instructional book with lots of useful resources and strategies for beginning and developing the teaching of French. Provides music to accompany tunes and songs but also a CD for those who aren't confident with reading music. Would have liked some supportive pictures to demonstrate how the song or chant should be taught and examples of breaking some of the vocabulary down phonetically and illustrating how to stress certain sounds, this would help reinforce the correct pronounciation. But overall an imaginative, systematic and useful aid for early learners of French.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! 10 Oct 2010
Format:Paperback
I've used this book with my year 4 class and it's gone down a treat. It's absolutely brilliant listening to them singing in French after just a couple of lessons. Would definitely recommend this book and CD to all the specialist and non-specialist teachers around.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you buy no other French book, buy this 22 May 2011
Format:Paperback
This teaches basic vocabulary, correct pronunciation,is catchy, memorable, modern and fun.I bought this along with a variety of other French home study books. This is the best by far. My daughter and son, aged 9 and 11, sing along together voluntarily and the reinforcement is rapid. Don't expect traditional songs - these are soooo much better!

An excellent book. The songs are easy to learn and "catchy." I am using the songs with years 3 and 4 and the children love the songs especially the rap sections.
