The writer of this collection of stories is a woman living in the tiny kingdom of Lesotho, in southern Africa. She tells us about her life, about her past, about what happened to and with her during many years of poverty, and having to deal with apartheid. Never though does she get sentimental - even though her tales are moving, not at any time in the book do you need to keep a handkerchief ready. This is a well-written book by someone who had barely any formal education but yet seems to have a natural talent for knowing how to keep her audience captivated.
I strongly recommend it to women around the world who feel a need for "sisterly comfort", and to any man who wants to meet a poor yet very strong woman.
