I bought this as a Kindle version as I was not going freight 3 crates of books from the UK to my new Work destination of Singapore. Over continued usage - being able to pick out sections on the way to work on the MRT - It is primarily the district information that proves the most informative - and no doubt, over the 3 years + that I am scheduled to be here, I'll keep coming back to what I perceive to be balanced informed and well described area information. As with many travel books - It is now after time that I am reading the 'historical' elements. Food sections have limited appeal - as Singapore is certainly not without thousands of options - the generic aspects, descriptions / understanding of Hawker Centres - the Singapore mainstay - were very useful as I immersed myself into the culture, but for me specific restaurant reviews are not what I want out of it. Niggles include the fact that the maps do not translate well onto the Kindle and that Area information does not include bus numbering to say the beach / Park from Pasir-Ris - which in this very efficient city would be beneficial. However overall I consider this publication to be very useful workable document, especially in the portable / casual Kindle format.
