Four years after ‘The Joy of Sing-Sing’ comes this, their second offering and what a difference. This collection of songs shows a greater maturity in both the song writing and in Lisa’s vocals which have lost a little of that slightly over the top girlishness in favour of more emotional weight.

Starting with the storming ‘Lover’ and ending with the poignant ‘A Kind of Love’ this collection of songs maintains the lightness of touch developed on their debut album and ties this to some first rate tunes. Of particular mention are the densely complex ‘Going out tonight’, possibly the best thing they have ever done and Emma’s aching ‘When I was made’.

The instrumentation is beautifully arranged with Emma’s guitar parts either stridently to the fore or entwining themselves around the orchestral settings to great effect.

Altogether a very satisfying set from Sing-Sing. Roll on the next four years.

Very good songs in an individual style - all female but not just all fluffy. If this were a perfect world, these girls would be on the covers of magazines. If that is not enough they do it all on their own. So far no executive of any label shoved money their way. When the music industry does as the dinosaurs did, SING SING will stay and show why.
Want to fall in love? Desperately? Buy their CDs and lock yourself at home with headphones.

If you want to escape from the banalities of everyday pop, look no further than Sing-Sing.

These songs combine unforgettably bright melodies (that will be on your mind long after the music’s over) with lyrics that make you think twice. Listening to Sing-Sing is like relaxing on a warm and sunny afternoon, making this album perfect for any time of the year.

It's also well worth finding a copy of their first album, The Joy of Sing-Sing.
