I bought this because I heard one of the tracks, Neil Halstead's beautiful acoustic cover of Kate Bush's Cloudbursting, in a coffee shop that shall remain nameless. It was so nice I wanted a copy, and this was the only recording I found. When I sampled the other tracks, I went for it and bought the album. There are so many lovely numbers on here it's hard not to like most of them, and some are just superb. I've been whistling 'Rainbow Connection' (covered here by Trespassers William) so much that my canaries are picking it up. Other standouts are Snowbird's 'The North Wind Doth Blow' and The Leisure Society's 'Inchworm'. Some are less immediately memorable, but I find they grow on you. And all the proceeds go to the Valerie Fund, a charity for the health care of children with cancer and blood disorders founded in memory of a little girl named Valerie Goldstein. Beautiful music, and for a very good cause which does not get enough attention.
