It's far to easy to lose hours of your life playing this alone or with a group of friends, not sure if that's a positive or a negative!! Is a lot of fun whether you can sing (or at least think you can) or not.

The game is pretty good, I found the song choice very good, for my age at least (19). However, I purchased the Glee Karaoke Revolution game around the same time and I have to say that the Glee game wins hands down against this one for the following reasons.

    - There is a slight delay with the microphone output, so basically, you sing in to the microphone on time with the music but it is played back around half a second later, this may not sound much but it is very off putting. I find that you then start singing in time with your delayed voice which then results in you being out of time with the game music which means you can miss necessary notes.

    - If you have some microphone technique like pulling the microphone away from your mouth slightly at the end of notes, the game really easily loses your vocal input and you can easily fail the note because it wont pick up your voice, I don't seem to have this problem with the Glee game.

    - On some occasions, I have sang a collection of notes perfectly on pitch (I know this by the indicator onscreen) but at the end of the collection it will say 'Awful' even though I was spot on pitch, I have never experienced this with the Glee game.

    - There isn't much difference between the 'easy' difficulty and the 'hard' difficulty.

Other than this, the game is pretty good fun, but personally I would go for Glee Karaoke Revolution.

When I bought this, I initially thought that the number of tracks would keep us busy and entertained for a while. Unfortunately, we did not know all of them, and the few we did know only occupied us for 1 evening. That aside, it is a great game!
Maybe new versions or add-ons using music from specific decades would be better - particularly for those of us whose teens and twenties are a happy, but distant memory!

Purchased this about two weeks ago tried it a couple of times! does have good qualities like the note valuation, getting to the right note and being marked for it, I really cant sing very well so I got it more as a tutor than a game or entertainment, I think if people can sing they would just buy Kareoke discs, overall not a bad program, but far from excellent. Now for what I found to be off putting, Very quiet on your own voice especially when you want to listen to the recording playing back, tried all the settings to improve this but still very quiet, The song book on the disc only had a couple of songs that I could get on with fairly well, the base program should have been backed up with supplimentory discs so you could choose your genre, even now months after release there are no other discs on sale, this really is the downfall of the program, and until there is a good catalogue I would be wary of buying as a lasting entertainment program, so Devs get your finger out and produce some other music discs for this pretty quick. Overall value for money out of ten, 5

We sing Encore plus 2 mics was bought for fun over Xmas & New Year & it certainly delivered. We had great times singing along & trying to beat each other. I think the 2 mics was a good idea, not sure that 4 mics would really be required tho. A fun game which also has potential for singer improvement (not tried yet).

This box basically does 2 things:

1 Sends the backing music and the words to the TV
2 Takes your voice from the microphone and sends it to the TV

Unfortunately, there is a delay of about a second or so between you singing & it coming out of the TV speakers.
This results in you sounding well behind the backing music when you listen back. You could sing ahead of the music but this is almost impossible. I believe the problem is a combination of a digital TV & the mechanics of the game.

The concept and the intracicies of the game are very cleverly done but it's seriously let down by the above.

All in all, it went back with the above explanation & I got a full refund. Till they get this sorted out, I don't believe anyone will enjoy this game !!

I played sing star on play station 6 years ago and thought it was great fun!!! Unfortunately i no longer have a play station but i now owen a wii.
So thinking that technology must be better 6 years down the track i couldnt believe just how bad these wii imitations are. It actually a lot worse than the sing star from 6 years ago.
To be honest there really isnt anything good about it at all so i couldnt be bothered going through listing everything thats wrong with it. my recommendations is not to buy it plain and simple.
I will try get my money back and send it back!!!! :(

Even though the games are terrible, full credit to Amazon who refunded the money when i returned them.
Thanks you amazon, very reliable and honest. great customer service

The software is actually well thought out but unfortunately it has some difficulties. The main was is the time lag between what you sing and when it is played back. This is particularly noticeable when using an HD TV. Despite much tinkering this aspect is not perfect. Songs titles are limited. Nevertheless the game is entertaining. Would like to see it around £[] cheaper though. Mikes are fine.
