If you like your murder mysteries with a bit more depth, this is for you. Sr Agnes is a wonderful character, damaged by her previous life, wracked with doubts about her vocation. Sent away from London to Yorkshire by her order she is like a fish out of water. Once again unable to stop herself becoming involved in the tragic lives of those around her, she investigates a murder that is closely involved with the family who own the local woollen mill. She is also trying to be a teacher at a girl's school and to cope with living in community again. Highly recommended. A cut above the usual.
