My favourite Frank album by a long way. The title says is all - "Swingin Session".
Easy, relaxed, effortless singing over same backing from a great orchestra, coming on like a pre WW2 big band.
Probably the most purely 'jazz' album Sinatra ever did, with lively arrangements and really good horn charts, giving the whole album a consistancy of mood.
The mood being classy, up-beat and really fresh sounding even today, more than 50 years after it was recorded.
Not that you'd know it was that old as the remastering is pitch perfect.
Just a final word about the voice - warm and intimate, completly on top of and inside every song. Frank sounds like he really enjoyed himself on this one.
Word of warning though - watch your speed when you play this in the car, else before you know it your racing around an empty coastal road in the south of France - and then caught on speed camera in Birmingham!
