Format:Audio CD
I first heard "THE SINATRA FAMILY WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS" around Christmas 1975 at my Sister-in-Law's house. The album in question was a Christmas present she received in 1969 on a Vinyl LP. Each year after 1975, I longed for Christmas to come around, so as to listen to this record. Alas, around November 1980, the nightmare of all nightmares happened; The record got accidentally scratched across THREE tracks. Christmas would not be the same without the melodious tones of The SINATRA FAMILY and their Christmas renditions of the songs. I hunted around record shops trying to replace the record as a surprize and purchase a copy of my own, but to much avail I never found any copies of the record. I tried to order it from record shops, But was told it was no longer in the catalogue. My Sister in Law and myself had to resign ourselves to never getting another copy of the album. Then in June this year (2000), I purchased a computer and whilst on the Internet one day decided to do a search for THE SINATRA FAMILY'S CHRISTMAS ALBUM. My eyes nearly popped out when I saw the album had been released on a Gold Disc and was available for purchase. I had already tried FIVE on-line record companies to order the album, But they could not get the stock. BUT AMAZON.CO.UK live up to their name, for they do deliver, and quick. When the package arrived, a lump appeared in my throat. It was like a dream come true! A newly mastered copy of my most favouite Christmas album on CD and in my hands. Each track has a magic all of it's own, and I think THE SINATRA FAMILY have put the true meaning of Christmas into every track in their own special way. THE SINATRA FAMILY WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS is a very good, easy listening Christmas album with mainly fresh new tracks not normally found on other Christmas records, but adds MOOD and MEANING to Christmas and the season. This album should be a Christmas Standard, and most probably would be if more people heard the album.

This made my year when I found this.Christmas wasn't the same without this album.I had taped it from my parents many years ago but cassettes don't last.So what a pleasure to have this back to carry on a long term festive tradition.

I bought this thinking it would be great to have something really christmassy, and as I love Frank Sinatra believed it would be a real treat to have christmas songs by the Sinatra family also. BUT, not what I thought. The songs are not that seasonal, and it really didn't do it for me. Possibly a good showcase for the voices of the Sinatras, but not if you want Christmas atmos.
