Product Description

This textbook provides a comprehensive account of psychology for all those with little or no previous knowledge of the subject. It covers the main areas of psychology, including social psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, personality, intelligence, and biological psychology.; Each chapter contains definitions of key terms, together with several multiple-choice questions and answers, and semi- structured essay questions. In addition, every chapter contains a "Personal Viewpoint" section, which encourages the reader to compare his or her views on psychology with the relevant findings of psychologists. The last chapter is devoted to study skills, and provides numerous practical hints for readers who want to study more effectively.

I just received this a couple of days ago and am finding it highly useful; I am currently in the first year of my Psychology degree and this book explains many areas I am covering with such clarity that I feel this is a must read for all Psychology undergraduates. Encompassing a wide range of topics, from Language to Gender, 'Simply Psychology' provides a brief yet informative introduction to ideas from various approaches such as Biological, Cognitive, Developmental etc. to help us understand the basics of Psychology. Written in a basic format, this would be very helpful for those with no or little prior knowledge in the area.

An excellent starting point. All M. W. Eysenck's texts appear to be very readable indeed.

a must read for all Social Workers and trainee Social Workers. I believe it would also be very useful for all people working in Social Care and the NHS. I have used it for my social work course, and have found it the easiest book to understand on the course so far. Excellent.
