I originally joined an evening class for beginners watercolour painting and ended up in a classroom full of accomplished painters who treated the class like a weekly club; I lasted about two weeks before leaving.
As I had bought all the equipment and did not want to waste it, I then purchased this excellent five hour DVD set for beginners. The 12 programmes were originally shown on television and are collected together in these three DVD's. The Titles of the DVD's are 'Beautiful Landscapes', 'Still Life' and 'By The Sea' and are all available separately.
I would highly recommend this DVD set for a beginner in watercolour painting, partly because it is cheaper than buying each disk separately or going along the Alwin Cranshaw route, as he assumes you have got to the intermediate stage and know what he is talking about, but mainly because of Frank's easy manner and 'let's have some fun' attidude to painting, assuming that you are a beginner and not to worry if you make a hash of it.
