There are two things about this pattern that might be a disappointment - no side seam pockets, and the trousers sit 2" below the waist. Otherwise this is a perfect pattern for soooooo many reasons!

One, the instructions and illustrations are very, very well written and illustrated! Two, construction is very simple on any of the options - the knit fabric (jersey or interlock) racer-back vest is done in three steps, the (jersey or interlock) tee-shirt (with bias tape shoulder seam stabilising!) and woven fabric (brushed cotton or flannel, lightweight cottons) trousers each in eight.

I am very impressed that the instruction follow a very logical progression beginning with an informative section re: pattern, cutting and marking, then an excellent section on sewing knits on any machine, PLUS a great section on using an overlocker/serger. The instructions are laid out as three columns, one each in English, French, and Spanish.

Beginners should be reminded to read the instructions to mentally construct the garments before sewing, AND especially to read the info on each pattern piece before cutting to be sure the correct size is chosen - the finished size at fullest parts (chest, waist, hips) is printed ONLY on the pattern tissue.

Sewers can check to make sure what size they prefer by making a circle with a flexible measuring tape at the finished size around their body before cutting. EXAMPLE: on the trousers the finished size for my size according to the chart is going to be too big - 51" at the hips would be huge! So WOOHOO, I get to go down a size!! But sigh, I'll need to go up on the vest. Oh well:) Because I know to check the pattern piece, I'll have lounging trousers and vest tops that fit properly and that's what is important!

An easy pattern for a beginner like me. The pj bottoms came out really well. Only thing I found was that they came up really wide on the leg. but I do have skinny thighs.I would make them again but cut the legs narrower.

I found this pattern very easy to use (with help from my dressmaking tutor!) I suggest doing a fell seem down the trouser legs instead of what the pattern says as these are a much more comfortable seem. Very quick and easy to make.

Exactly what I wanted. Have adapted to make long trousers into shorts. Easy to do. 11 year old niece has also had a go at making her first piece of clothing. Very pleased with them. Easy clear instructions for a novice !!
