This book is good if you are creating your own website and want to learn more about how to do it. I have found this useful alongside other books as well and also doing a course about Website Design. The book has 500 key points about design. I didnt understand them all the first time I read it but after studying the subject for a while I have found the book is also useful to go back to. It is also very attractively laid out and also has nice screen shots of existing websites for you to look at. Very useful but you will probably need some other books as well but the same could be said for all website books - I havent yet found the one and only "stand alone" website design book !

This book is visually a feast to flick through. When I decided, as a beginner, to make my own website, I bought an HTML and CSS scripting manual, a book on website building, and this one. And I was glad I did. Its greatest feature is its large number of carefully selected screenshots of sites that illustrate the tips being discussed. The tips are not intended to be a manual to building a site, and can't be used as such. They are, however, useful and inspiring. Little tricks and tips that save time, good ideas and a series of 'don't do's' make it an ideal complementary book to anyone interested in creating a website a little out of the ordinary.
this was a christmas precent i was looking for an up to date puplication this book seamed to be it as the others was at least two years out of date so i went with this one i wanted one that would help this person not only to keep up to date with his own site but to give him idears on keeping it updated and the techniques to do so and when he starts going to college to learn how to do web sites i hope this book will also help him on this as well.
