Book Description

Who doesn't like cookies? Not many people I would guess. Because of that we decided a cookie recipe book would be just the thing in the Chef’s Choice Recipes range of books. The first problem we had was where to start. I suspect the biggest problem you will have is to know when to stop! These recipes are absolutely delicious, very moreish, and you will want to keep on dipping into the cookie barrel.
We have tried to keep things simple, included a few recipes that are a little more unusual, but you will be able to manage them all. We have reproduced these recipes to our own tastes, but you can adjust where your health requires it. For instance; substituting olive oil spread for butter would make the cookies a healthier option. Where a recipe calls for the use of sugar, always remember that whatever the measurement, e.g. 1 cup make sure the sugar is packed into the cup and not loose. We always give a guide to try and give some indication of how much will be produced and in this case how many cookies the recipe will make. This will depend largely on how generous you are with your portions. Here is where you come in. Your feedback on this aspect is very welcome. We would love to hear how many cookies you were able to make from our recipes. Feel free to experiment and add to your own taste, but we like them just as they are!
One of the best things we liked about these recipes is that they don't take long to make and they take even less time to bake. So, before you start, make sure you have got all the ingredients! A simple tip, but invaluable when it is pouring with rain outside and you realize you didn't pick up the chocolate chips.
You can make your own traditional chocolate chip cookies and cocoa brownies to something a little more seasonal at times with the Spooky cookies for Halloween. We have a few varieties of shortbread and a particular favorite, Raisin and rum sandwiches! Rather than ruin the fun by telling everything that is included, just dive straight in and get your apron on. Later on you could be watching a movie, munching on your own home-made cookies, planning the next batch.
Maybe you have never had the pleasure of baking cookies before. Well, have you missed out on something special! There is nothing quite like making your own, and you will find out just how simple they really are to make. The whole thing from start to finish: Shopping for the ingredients, (you get to see what other cool stuff is around also) mixing the ingredients, (it really is remarkably easy) baking the cookies, (there is nothing quite like the smell of baking cookies) and the ultimate test – the taste test (the best bit). The downside – sharing, but who said you have to tell anyone you made some cookies?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cookies Recipes for all Tastes 29 Dec. 2012
By R
Format:Kindle Edition
Let me just say that this recipe book has just been consigned to my favourite spot on the book shelve. I have tried several of the cookie recipes and they have definitely been a success among both family and friends this Christmas. As usual with this author's cookbooks the recipes are simple and easy to follow with well set out methods and a variety of choice for all tastes. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to cook 11 Dec. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Like all of the Tony Sutcliffe Books I own this is also a great one. It has so many unusual recipes that dont take long to prepare or cook, the only downside is deciding which to make first!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone, especially if you need ideas for edible gifts, there's something for everyone and these are not your average cookies.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't need to eat cookies, but I couldn't resist this one 5 Dec. 2012

LOL! I just finished writing a review of a breakfast recipe book and now am writing about cookies! If you read my reviews you might think I do nothing but eat!! In any case . . . thank you to the authors for putting this recipe collection together. If I have to cook anything (other than breakfast) my absolute favorite cooking "genre" is baking. Cakes, pies, breads . . . and of course, cookies.

Here's what I really like about this book:

1. It's well-organized with a very convenient table of contents
2. It has recipes for all kinds of cookies, i.e. drop, shortbread, glazed, etc.
3. The recipes are simple and easy to follow (TOO easy, when it comes to my waistline!)

Everyone in my family loves ginger cookies, so I headed straight over to the Moravian Ginger Cookie recipe - don't know if you've ever eaten them but they are ultra-thin and crispy. I've eaten plenty but never baked them myself. So this is going to be high on my list. Really liked this recipe collection.

Yum, cookies! Who doesn't like them?

The authors have cleverly devised cookie recipes for all seasons. There's 51 yummy recipes in total that are mouth watering, tummy rumbling good.

Tony and Paul have kept things simple and thrown in a few unusual recipes for good measure.

I loved the fact that these recipes don't take long to make or bake so they get to your mouth quicker.

Everything is written in a clear, easy to understand step by step process to get those cookies a baking.

So, I recommend this mouth watering book for all those who want to give themselves the pleasure of baking their own delicious enjoyable cookies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Recipes that Really Are Simple to Make 14 Dec. 2012
By Flsunfan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Everyone loves cookies. They bring back fond memories of childhood, holidays, and friends. In this wonderful little cookbook the authors share recipes for cookies that truly are simple to make, yet taste so much more difficult. This time of year, with parties, entertaining, gift-giving, and celebrations; what could be better than fresh homemade cookies? Take a tray to the office, pack a box for the teacher, or give some to your neighbors. Spread a little holiday cheer with these delightful and delicious cookies. The reason I suggest giving them away, is that they are so good, you will be tempted to eat them all yourself!
