Book Description

29 April 2005
Colour photo--sequences and clear text show even a ham--fisted beginner how to fix their boat. The two aims of this book are preventing problems and curing them when they do happen (even at sea). This is the best--illustrated book ever produced on maintenance and Manley has spent over a year photographing each stage of each topic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple boat maintenance - mainly good 4 Nov 2011
I have found this book incredibly useful and often refer to it. It's obvious that the writer knows what he is talking about and has carried out all the procedures he describes. The one shortcoming of the book is the quality of the photographs. Mr Manly obviously economised in the production by taking the photographs himself rather than having them done professionally. The result is that many of them are dark and unclear which is a pity as the rest of the book is excellent. Hopefully the next edition will rectify this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible book - BUY THIS!!! 23 Dec 2005
By A Customer
Well, this is one of the best books I have EVER seen on any aspect of sailing. It is also probably the best illustrated sailing book I have ever seen - there are so many photos it makes every task extremely straightforward.
I like the way it breaks the tasks down into ease of use, and tells you step by step how to solve the problem (even where to find the area you need to work on! Sounds simple, but is important!)
It is very well written, very well presented and inexpensive for a hardback book. Thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb guide 13 May 2009
This is the book the marine engineers do not want you to know about as it clearly explains how all the most common tasks can be carried out.
